The "Challenger" is a 40’ Gamefisherman with twin diesel engines; tuna tower; large cockpit with a fighting chair. The lounge consists of two couches, table with bench seats, sink with running water. Head: toilet, shower and basin. The forward cabin has two bunks. She is fast (30 knots), clean and well kept. Capt. Alan Card and his son Ian operate the "Challenger". Capt. Alan has over 30 years experience in the charter boat business. Capt. Alan has to his credit, eight of the ten largest blue marlin taken in Bermuda's waters, six weighing over 1100+lbs. 1130.08lbs (1983); 1190lbs (1989); 1195lbs (1993); 1153lbs and 1162lbs (1995); 1199lbs (2001). Added to his list are the largest bluefin tuna 782 lbs. And the largest yellowfin tuna 200 lbs. taken in Bermuda’s waters. He personally holds the world record for a 42.08 lb. blackfin tuna on 50 lb. test line. |
