Fishing Report: Saturday, June 5th

Today's group included Bill, Brian, Buck, Huey, John and Victor. It was a summer-like uncomfortable 70 degrees humid morning to start with quite a bit of haze. We had a mostly light Southwest wind of 5 knots, which did build to over 10 knots. Seas were chops of 2'-3' and the ocean surface temp. on the fishing grounds was 66 degrees F.

After nearly a week of Southwest winds, the bottom fishing remains less productive than we would usually see the first week of June. You start to get a bite, then the fish shut down with the colder bottom temps, you can see them on the machine. We fished hard today and caught 200 sea bass, with a box of over 40 fish. As surprising as this may be to some that will read this, I have to give the nod to Buck for fisherman of the day.
