Cape Cod Fishing Reports by Region
Nantucket

Built on the shifting sands left behind from the last ice age, Nantucket is home to miles of beautiful beaches and of course, great fishing. Fisherman from the lower cape frequently visit the waters around this island for great striper fishing. Famous points include the Sankaty Head Lighthouse and Tuckernuck Island (owned by Jimmy Buffet).

Martha's Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard is popular vacation spot during the summer. The Vineyard, like Nantucket, is a great hotspot for striper and bluefish fishing. The Vineyard is frequently visited by, among others, famous figures like former president Bill Clinton. Towns on the Vineyard include Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah.

Outer Cape Cod

Welcome to the Outer Cape. The area of Cape Cod generally referred to as the "Outer" Cape is also described by many as the Lower Cape. Our Outer Cape includes the towns of Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown... the area from the forearm to the fist of Cape Cod. Our Lower Cape region includes the other towns often included in the description of the Outer Cape. These are Harwich, Brewster, Chatham and Orleans.

Lower Cape Cod

Welcome to the Lower Cape. The area of Cape Cod generally referred to as the "Lower" Cape is also described by many as the Outer Cape. Our Lower Cape includes the towns of Harwich, Brewster, Chatham and Orleans... the area referred to as the "elbow" of the Cape. Our Outer Cape includes the other towns often included in the description of the Lower Cape. These are Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown.

Mid-Cape

Welcome to the Mid Cape. The area of Cape Cod generally referred to as the "Mid-Cape" is in the central part of Cape Cod. The Mid Cape includes the towns of Barnstable, Yarmouth and Dennis. Some consider Barnstable and its towns to be part of the Upper Cape, but we've chosen to group all of the Barnstable towns in the Mid Cape area, primarily because most are nearer the Mid Cape area than the Upper Cape.

Upper Cape

Welcome to the Upper Cape. The area of Cape Cod generally referred to as the "Upper" Cape is the first part of the Cape that visitors to Cape Cod see. The Upper Cape includes the towns nearest the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges and the Cape Cod Canal. Bourne, Sandwich, Sagamore, Falmouth, Mashpee, Cotuit, Osterville, Centerville and Marstons Mills are considered to be on the Upper Cape. Hyannis is considered to be towards the Upper Cape as well, though we've chosen to group all of the Barnstable towns in the Mid Cape area, primarily because Barnstable contains a number of towns, most of which are nearer the Mid Cape area than the Upper Cape. The Upper Cape region also includes the easternmost part of the Buzzards Bay region.
